Center of The Universe: Transforming the 27 Types of Narcissism from the Inside Out

🎉Center of the Universe Is Out Today🎉
A deeper look at narcissism, selfhood, and how we lose the center
After years of research, reflection, and writing through some of the most complex and personal material I’ve ever explored, my new book, Center of the Universe: Transforming the 27 Types of Narcissism from the Inside Out, is officially available.
This is a book about narcissism. But it is not about “those people” out there. It is about the subtle ways all of us construct identity, seek validation, and build self-importance as a strategy for survival. It is about the gap between the image we present and the deeper truth we long to live from.
For those of you who have followed my work through the Enneagram, you will find the system quietly embedded throughout the book. While I do not frame the material by type, readers familiar with the instinctual subtypes will recognize their shape in the many case studies, composite examples, and energetic distortions explored in these pages.
What This Book Offers
Center of the Universe looks at narcissism across five distinct layers:
Individual: how ego structures form through fragmentation, inflation, and emotional compensation
Relational: how narcissistic dynamics surface in intimacy, authority, and attachment
Familial: how early wounds and emotional neglect shape our desire to be praised, seen, or needed
Cultural: how Western society rewards image management, performance, and control
Institutional: how larger systems reflect and reinforce narcissistic structures on a collective scale
Rather than pathologizing individuals, this book frames narcissism as a spectrum of disconnection. Grandiosity, superiority, over-functioning, and even false humility all emerge from the same root: the fear that we are nothing without the mask.

For the Enneagram-Inclined
If you are familiar with the Enneagram, especially the instinctual drives, you will likely recognize the energetic patterns that run through the book. The 27 narcissism profiles are reviewed from the first book, The Narcissist in You and Everyone Else: Recognizing the 27 Types of Narcissism, but in this book, we delve more into how the types look in the world rather than just a taxonomy.
This book is written with the hope that we can move beyond categorizing behavior and instead begin the real work of integration.
At its core, this is not a book about narcissism but rather a book about what happens when we finally stop revolving around a false center and begin to remember the one that was never lost.
Warmly,
Sterlin
